How the Braces Treatment Works
1. Initial Consultation
The initial consultation starts with an examination. Dr. Riordan will examine your teeth, take X-rays, and take digital scans (if needed) to evaluate your dental health and determine the best route to take regarding your treatment. Once the examination is conducted, Dr. Riordan will create a personalized treatment plan. Your treatment plan will outline the type of braces recommended, how long your treatment will last, and other specific details. Dr. Riordan will discuss your treatment plan with you and answer any questions you may have.
2. Braces Application
After Dr. Riordan establishes your treatment plan, he and his team will begin the braces application process. Braces will be attached to your teeth and connected with wires, helping to shift your teeth gradually into the desired position.
3. Regular Adjustments
You will have regular appointments to get your wires adjusted and to ensure the treatment continues to be as effective as possible.
4. Braces Removal and Retention
Once your teeth have reached the proper alignment, we will remove your braces and fit you with a retainer to help keep them in the correct place and prevent them from shifting back to their original positions.

How the Clear Aligners Treatment Works
1. Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation, we will examine your teeth and bite to determine if you are an ideal candidate for clear aligners. After the examination portion of the consultation, we will take digital impressions or scans of your teeth. The impressions or scans create a 3D model of your teeth to show their current alignment. Dr. Riordan will review your scans and create a custom treatment plan for you.
2. Clear Aligner Creation
We use the 3D model of your teeth to create your multiple custom-fitted aligners. Each aligner plays an important role in gradually moving your teeth to reach the proper alignment. Each aligner is designed to be worn for a specific period before switching to another one, as outlined in your treatment plan.
3. Wearing Your Aligners and Progression
4. Regular Check-ups and Maintaining Results
The treatment plan consists of regular check-ups to monitor your progress and ensure you are on track to get the desired results. Once your teeth are in the right position, you may need a final set of aligners or retainers to maintain your results.
